Just woke up and went to check the weather and saw this…

No one can say we don’t sleep deeply around here.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that yesterday we (hubby and I) ran around like chickens with our heads cut off to try and get our errands done…and we didn’t finish them all.
If we were having coffee, I’d ask you how your week went. Did you have a nice Thanksgiving? We, who live up here in Canada, have already had our Thanksgiving, so now we’re in the Christmas frenzy.
Our house hasn’t avoided such frenzy either. My lovely hubby got a bit of Christmas madness and wrapped a column with lights. (see below)
And see that little brown thing at the bottom of the column next to the tiny Christmas tree? Yeap. That’s a buddha.
If we were having coffee, I’d ask you if you have started your Christmas shopping. I have started giving money away to a charity that I care about for Christmas…But shopping? Not so much.
Finally, if we were having coffee, I’d ask you how the weather is around where you are. We had freezing rain yesterday…to the dismay of our doggies who don’t understand how to walk on ice.
Thank you so much for reading! And a huge thanks to Eclectic Alli for hosting Coffee Share (in hiatus this week but returning next week).
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that it’s finally turning colder. It’s been so hot that it was hard to see the leaves changing colours while we were in shorts and t-shirts. It just didn’t vibe.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that our house is slowly coming back together. A while ago, we found a crack in our ceiling and one to match on our wall. Just around that time, we also found dreaded moisture in our basement and tons of mold on things to go along with it. This weekend, we’ve been purging, washing and throwing things out until there isn’t one surface that hasn’t been covered with vinegar or washed or tossed.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that work has been nuts but, after many years at my job, I’m a very capable squirrel.
If we were having coffee, I’d ask you how things are with you? And how is Fall treating you?
Finally, I’d send a huge thanks to Eclectic Alli for hosing Coffee Share and to you, my lovely reader, for reading!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you my dogs killed another rabbit. This happened because a rabbit snuck into our fenced backyard and my two pooches were on it before it could get out. Thankfully, I didn’t see said incident. But the horrors of it still linger in my mind. I wish I could have helped that little bunny.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that, Canada being Canada, it’s now boiling hot outside. We truly go from boots to sandals. You either freeze or boil here. Still, it’s such a lovely change from the dark, freezing nights of winter that no one is complaining.
Except the akitas. They’d love nothing more than perpetual winter.
If we were having coffee, I’d ask you how your week went. How was work? How was home? Mine was crazy busy. It seems that, as the temperature increases, so does the workload…or maybe it’s my need for perfectionism. I have to admit, I tend to fuss at things until they’re just so.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my lovely hubby is away…again. He’s at yet another therapist workshop where I can only imagine they’re all checking to make sure everyone feels okay. Sorry, that was uncalled for. I’m sure they’re all lovely and working really hard.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that this weekend, I’ve been reading. Since hubby is away, I snuck into the used bookstore (it’s like a treasure cave, honestly) and found some books. I’ve been reading ever since. Isn’t reading just delicious?
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that it is finally above zero here and the change is incredible. We just finished getting over our final ice storm and now the sight of sunshine is so beautiful it defies description. The akitas, however, beg to differ.
How is your week going? And what’s the weather like over there? Are you doing anything relaxing this weekend?

If we were having coffee, you’d probably tell me to be quiet. In fact, it might be better if we focus on the coffee we’re having instead of what I have to say…because it’s not pretty.
If we were having coffee and sitting in some coffee shop, we’d both be defying all advice from police and weather sources right now. They’re telling everyone to stay indoors. Apparently, Mother Nature is having a fit and the result isn’t going to be pretty. We’re getting another ice storm.
I’m no expert but ‘potentially historic’ doesn’t sound good.
Maybe we should get another cup of coffee.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you this week has been a mix of hectic, chaotic and lovely. My hubby and his best friend Shane took down our shower and put a new one back up. The project didn’t happen without chaos and more than one panicky moment where we believed we’d never shower again. Still, we now have a new shower and though it leaks and the shower head and the controls are on different walls, it works and that’s all we care about.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the sunshine here has been nothing short of glorious. Never mind the fact that you need layers and layers to enjoy said sunshine, it’s here and I’ve never received a gift with more joy.
Finally, if we were having coffee, I’d ramble on about how much I’m enjoying mine. Sure, tomorrow, I’m going back to work and it’s looking pretty gloomy outside right now. But such petty concerns fade under the scent of a lovely cup of coffee. Isn’t it just a wonderful morning drink?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I adore my doggies. They’re just the perfect balance of silly and playful, loving and cuddly. I’ve started brushing their teeth and this leads to a ton of new hugs and kisses to reassure them that the brushing is actually good for them. I also give them a treat afterwards (a Dental stick that’s supposed to clean their teeth) and they adore that. I get tons of kisses and hugs, they get clean teeth. It’s a win-win.
I think that they know I’m over the moon with them because, though akitas aren’t supposed to be clingy, these two stick pretty close to me. Right now, as I type, they’re at my feet and next to me. I can just about move my hands but the rest of me is pretty dog-covered. Not that I mind. I find having them next to me a gift that I look forward to every day.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that we’re still having pretty warm temperatures and the mere thought of spring is a drug I’m inhaling every day. The longer days and warmer weather is intoxicating. I can’t get enough of it.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that hubby is slowly recovering from his eye surgery (he had laser eye surgery this week) and now has better than 20/20 vision (owl eyes, that’s him!).
How about you? How was your week?
