A huge thank you!

A huge thank you to Happy Day for sharing this beautiful picture with me. She noticed my Weekend Coffee posts and thought I might use it for those posts. Isn’t it beautiful? Check it out:

Top 10 posts for January

January was a busy month at this humble little blog. In fact, it was the busiest month so far. I have no doubt it’s thanks to the incredible support of the awesome bloggers and readers I’ve met online. So, without further delay, here are the top posts according to you.

10. This one comes in last. It’s about my two akitas and their one fight. I’ve never seen anything like it before or since. *Knocks on wood*.

9. Tags is a very important topic for bloggers and this post was a hit for that exact reason.

8. I found this in our house and it’s sort of…creepy. The warning inside gave me the chills…and I still haven’t written in it.

7. This one was a complete surprise. I was rambling about my bad habits with those blog stats and it was a huge hit. People everywhere shared how they deal with the temptation of those stats. I found those comments so helpful!

6. I started Posts I loved this week on a whim. Since then, I’ve thought about changing or doing something else but, every time I consider it, someone tells me that they like those posts. So I keep doing them. The truth is, there are amazing posts out there from really talented bloggers. Somehow, my saying that I love those posts seems to hit a chord with people. It humbles me to see it.

5. Pay It Forward was something I made up because I’ve received so much support from others online. Natasha Guyot is an incredibly multi-talented person and this post about her was a huge hit with readers.

4. I was owning my stuff in this one. It wasn’t easy to say and I avoided doing it until I saw a very special post by D. Emery. His courage boosted mine and I finally wrote this post. I’m still struggling with the editing but at least I’m being honest about it.

3. More than a year after it was posted, this post became a hit again.

2. I know for a fact this one was a huge hit because of the support of other bloggers online. I’m thrilled though, because the cause that started the post is a fantastic one and great ideas deserve all the help they can get.

1. This one was my number one post for January. Funny, eh?

One final note of thanks to everyone, bloggers, indie authors, readers or just people who happen to chance by my blog for making this month such a success! You guys are awesome!

Thank you!

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been so incredibly kind and supportive of my book. I thought of the Surprise idea as a sort of fun post/free gift but I really had no expectations. I certainly wasn’t prepared for the outcome.

People got my book. They bought it even though I explained I would give it to them for free. They bought it even though they don’t even read romance! They Twitted messages, made banners for Facebook, they re-blogged the post and basically shouted out support for my book everywhere.

I was overwhelmed. I shared it with my hubby, who was amazed, and my mother-in-law who forgets things and asked: “You wrote a book?”

It was really incredible and I wanted to say thank you so very much. You guys are so kind.

I didn’t do it

Notice the amazing header? It’s not mine. Nope. That baby appears on this blog thanks to Winter Bayne.

I have no idea how she did it but she managed to transform my old header picture into that work of art. And she did this while attending camp NaNoWriMo.

I had to mention it because, I didn’t do it. She did and deserves the credit. Also because she did it just because. She’s one of those people who’ll help you–even when I wonder how she finds time to brush her teeth.

A big, big thank you, Winter Bayne. You’re awesome.

Oh. If you want to see one scorching header, check out her site.

A big thank you

I started this blog not that long ago on the recommendation of a friend. I didn’t know what to expect and hoped I would be able to do it without looking like an idiot or getting hurt. The internet was pretty intimidating place for me. I had heard about trolls and cyber-bullying and wondered just what I was getting myself into.

I didn’t find any trolls or bullies (knock on wood). What I did find was a group of incredibly supportive people.

I wanted to write this post because they’re above your average definition of ‘supportive’. They don’t just go out of their way, they go waaay out of their way and do it while keeping up with insanely busy lives.

Like Winter Bayne who’s so busy I have no idea how she finds time to eat, and, when I told her how much I admired her new header (check it out here), she volunteered to make me one.

Or Gene’O, who runs several blogs, is heavily involved in several important causes but still finds time to comment on my little  posts, Twitter about my blog and reblog my posts!

Or Harliqueen who never writes a word without it being positive. And how she manages to comment on every one of my posts is a total mystery!

Or Infinitefreetime who’s got hoards of people following his blog but makes time to comment on mine and reblogs my posts!

Or Outmanned, who Tweets about my posts and comments while taking care of her two little boys and somehow also managing to write amazing posts!

Or Frances and Lynne, Nina Mishkin, Veda Horner… I could go on and on. These are people who work, are married and have busy lives. I haven’t paid them or asked them to be so kind. They just did it.

Like that Visa commercial says, they’re absolutely priceless.
