If we were having coffee

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that, last night, I dreamt I was in a Stephen King novel. I was one of the characters in the novel and the only one who knew bad things were on the way. Weird.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you this week at work simply flew by. It was one of our busiest and I was exhausted by the time Friday came, but man was it over fast! One moment it was Monday and the next I’m writing this post.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that Friday was National Puppy Day.

Awwwww! Puppies!!

If we were having coffee

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I’m sick. I’m still in the early stages, so part of me still denies it and even has trouble typing it down. I’m still hoping that it was just a fluke and I didn’t really feel sick yesterday and it’ll magically go away.

If we were having coffee, I’d own that I’m pretty sick of winter already. Well, not winter exactly but the extreme cold days that we’ve been having. If that Polar Vortex moved on back home and left us, I wouldn’t shed a tear.

If we were having coffee, I’d share that this week was a whirlwind at work. The days didn’t fly, they teleported by. It the middle of the madness, I was trying to do all the items on my to-do list and basically ran around like a headless chicken.

Tell me it’s warmer where you are. It’d make my cold day.

If we were having coffee

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that River, my faithful doggie, has started showing some initiative. At night, when he’s had enough of staying up, he comes to my side, sighs loudly and stares at me until I get up and go to bed. Apparently, it’s not okay for him to go to bed on his own, he has to have me with him. Following his lead, I ushered my hubby to bed early the other day. Hubby thought the entire thing was too funny for words.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that we’ve been having a cold spell that was too brutal for words. When the temperature reached -26 C without the wind, being outside was out of the question and I’ve been keeping a close eye on my puppies. When they’re outside, they seem to forget the temperature and play on the snow with delight. Winter-dogs or not, I’m not comfortable leaving them out there for longer than 15 minutes or so. I worry about their little ears and wet noses. So I call them in and they do come…reluctantly and giving me sad looks of regret.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask you just how cold it was where you live. It seems this freezing spell has hit most of North America and there isn’t a spot that wasn’t under some sort of weather warning.

Definitely time for another cup of beautiful coffee. And a huge thanks to Eclectic Alli for hosting our Coffee Share.

If we were having coffee I’d tell you that we have snow…and our two akitas couldn’t be happier. I have yet to see them express that amount of happiness at the sight of us or food or their beds. Snow holds an incredible amount of glee for our two fluff-balls. They simply can’t get enough of the stuff.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that lately, work has been actually fun. I work with the public and while they can be demanding, contradicting and maddening, they can also be cute, endearing and hilarious. I had a week where I spent most of my time at work laughing. Laughter, in my book, is one of the best things.

If we were having coffee, I’d share that my lovely, British hubby is obsessed with a restaurant and we’ve been going religiously to it every weekend since September. After two and a half months of the same food, I’m starting to look like the menu. If he suggests it next weekend, I might kick him in the buttocks.

How was your week? Is there anyone you’d like to kick?

Coffee share has found a new home.  Eclectic Alli is hosting it. Come see what everyone’s saying.

Where this week is nuts

I’m in the middle of a pretty insane week. It’s nuts at my Day Job because our boss has decided to do an indoor activity outdoors…and invite other centres to boot. Never mind the fact that Mother Nature may not comply and rain on all of us, we have to prep this new idea of his and it’s…well, it’s nuts.

To add chaos to madness, I’ve decided to create a welcoming, food area for our clients at work. We’re going to have hot drinks, cookies and light refreshments…thanks to my wallet and my insane mind.

Finally, at home, my lovely hubby is leaving for one of his therapist conferences and the house is in total chaos thanks to his way of packing (throw everything around until it falls into a suitcase).

I told him to take this joke with him.

He didn’t find it funny, but I thought it was hilarious. Some times, if life gives you nuts, you have to act like a chipmunk…and enjoy a nut or two.
