If we were having coffee, I’d share that we’re still selling our house and then roll my eyes. We’ve been trying to sell our home since June of last year and it feels even longer than that. Worse, if possible, a prolific family of mice have moved into our attic and, after chewing through some insulation, have decided to multiply.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I’m sick. I have some version of the cold that makes me sound like a duck. I’d also tell you that my hubby is also sickΒ and was up all night with the stomach flu. Since he’s not exactly diminutive, every time he came back to bed, I bounced like a cork at sea. So neither of us slept a wink last night. The ones who did sleep are our fluff-balls of dogs who’ve woken up, healthy as horses and with more energy than usual. They’re not sick. Neither are the mice. They’re incredibly healthy.
I’d probably ask for another cup of coffee, since they can’t pump the stuff directly into my vein through an IV and that’s what I need this morning.
And I’d ask you how you were doing. Tell me you’re not sick? Or join the germ-infested.
Hope you and your “hubby” feel better soon.
Thanks so much, Trent!!
Hope you’re all better soon…and that your house sells with a quickness! π
Awww! Thank you so much!
Bad head, lack of sleep, sore throat. Will that do? Still writing – though it is rubbish. Bawl …
I bet it’s not rubbish! Still, you’re writing even through all that! It’s a sign of a great author! Hang in there, Judith!
Good grief, a ‘prolific family of mice’? *shudder* I hope you can rid yourselves of the vermin soon and find your home a new family. Here’s to a better, healthier week.
Oh yeah! When we first heard the sound of little feet, we thought we had ONE mouse. Turns out, they travel in packs.
I hate to laugh at your displeasure, but your writing is just so fun. π
We’re all sick around here as well, trying to get rid of it before Mardi Gras time next week.
Sorry about the house and the mice. I remember my parents having a tough time selling our house when I was younger—I think it had something to do with the awful green carpet my parents had and the paint colors? I remember thinking it was weird that there are actually people who won’t buy houses because of the paint colors.
Ah…paint colours. So easy to change. Not so much with mice…thanks for the lovely sentiments on sickness. Nothing worse than a sick hubby. Hope you feel better before Mardi Gras. That’s got to be incredible!
Sick… and why I’m not writing a post this week. Still reading though π
Hang in there! It seems those germs are getting to a few of us!
Tired just about covers it for me, so it sounds like we’re in the same boat! If we were having coffee I’d bring my grandmother’s special soup with me because it always makes me feel better and I’d hope it would do the same for you π I hope you get a better night and are feeling as well as the furry creatures sharing your home!
Thank you so much! Special soup sounds awesome! You had quite the weekend with all those little people running about! Yikes! No wonder you’re tired! Thanks for the lovely wishes!
Maybe you can train the mice to bring you coffee? *snicker* Sorry, couldn’t help that!
I’m so sorry you’re both sick. That’s the worst. If one at a time is sick, it is more manageable but both at once, yuck! Get well soon. Both of you. And start training those mice! π
Thanks so much for the support, Corina! It’s certainly rough when we’re both sick. And if only the mice could bring us coffee…hm…what an idea! I wish! π
Does homesickness count? Otherwise I’m actually in really good physical shape. PT breaks up the monotony.
Absolutely homesickness counts! Good to hear from you, D. Emery! Thanks for the comment!
Oh my God, the cork at sea was just too good. I wish I hadn’t just taken a big mouthful of orange juice as I read it. I had to spit it back into the glass. I’m a pretty classy lady.
LOL!! I wanted to be a little lighter on that post and add some humour. I’m glad you enjoyed it! The highest compliment is that you had to stop drinking! π
