A big thank you

I started this blog not that long ago on the recommendation of a friend. I didn’t know what to expect and hoped I would be able to do it without looking like an idiot or getting hurt. The internet was pretty intimidating place for me. I had heard about trolls and cyber-bullying and wondered just what I was getting myself into.

I didn’t find any trolls or bullies (knock on wood). What I did find was a group of incredibly supportive people.

I wanted to write this post because they’re above your average definition of ‘supportive’. They don’t just go out of their way, they go waaay out of their way and do it while keeping up with insanely busy lives.

Like Winter Bayne who’s so busy I have no idea how she finds time to eat, and, when I told her how much I admired her new header (check it out here), she volunteered to make me one.

Or Gene’O, who runs several blogs, is heavily involved in several important causes but still finds time to comment on my little  posts, Twitter about my blog and reblog my posts!

Or Harliqueen who never writes a word without it being positive. And how she manages to comment on every one of my posts is a total mystery!

Or Infinitefreetime who’s got hoards of people following his blog but makes time to comment on mine and reblogs my posts!

Or Outmanned, who Tweets about my posts and comments while taking care of her two little boys and somehow also managing to write amazing posts!

Or Frances and Lynne, Nina Mishkin, Veda Horner… I could go on and on. These are people who work, are married and have busy lives. I haven’t paid them or asked them to be so kind. They just did it.

Like that Visa commercial says, they’re absolutely priceless.

    • It can be. I still fear those ‘trolls’ and other scary things. But I’ve been very lucky with the people I’ve met! They’re so incredibly kind–probably all embarrassed after reading my post! 🙂

  1. There’s always time to eat…you just go with out sleep. I’d still make a header for you…gonna keep looking for something that fits. I can’t comment on all the posts…I’ve tried. Wow..that takes some commitment there! I have trouble replying to the few comments left on my own blog! Thinking of hiring Mishka for that job…

  2. Well, you have indeed been lucky. I think Camp NaNoWriMo gave me a spot of luck this year. It introduced me to great people who are chivvying me along too.

  3. Thank you for the shout out 😀 I love how supportive the writing community has been. I was nervous about setting up a blog for fear of trolls and bad people in general, but instead found a great group of people who are all positive and want to help each other out!

You have a great blog with great post and really helpful links and advice, I really enjoy it when I see a new post 🙂
